U.S.News & World Report magazine has ranked Rush among an elite group of hospitals in the country for both nursing care and pain management. In both categories, Rush placed in the top 10 percent out of the small group of hospitals that U.S.News & World Report rates the best in America in their annual evaluation. These rankings are posted on the usnews.com Web site.

In June, Rush University Medical Center was chosen as a recipient of the 2009 Premier Award for Quality, which recognizes health care organizations that efficiently provide outstanding patient care and consistently set the standard in clinical excellence. Rush was the only hospital in Illinois and one of only 23 hospitals out of more than 3,796 eligible hospitals nationwide to receive the award.
