Inaugural Rush Graduate College Emerald Ball Fundraiser a Success

The Graduate College Student Council held its inaugural Emerald Ball fundraiser on March 1, 2008. The event raised more than $25,000 for graduate student travel awards, which will enable deserving students to attend scientific meetings.

The Marriott Hotel at Ashland Avenue and Harrison Street hosted the gathering of students, faculty and alumni from the college. The ball was complete with dinner, dancing and a silent auction table full of donated artwork, unique items and tickets to various Chicago-based attractions. With such tremendous success this year, the Graduate College Student Council hopes to continue this event for years to come.
