Custom Rush University regalia is now available. Incorporating Rush’s corporate green color, the official old gold Rush University color and the University shield, these new gowns will serve as a visual exemplar of school spirit and pride for Rush University degree candidates and alumni.

The new regalia will make its Rush debut at the 39th Rush University Commencement on June 11, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the UIC pavilion. This year’s commencement kicks off the 40th anniversary celebratory year commemorating the founding of Rush University in 1972.

What's New at Rush

Rush University Medical Center Again Named a Top Hospital by the Leapfrog Group
The Leapfrog Group's annual class of top hospitals — 65 from a field of nearly 1,200 — was announced Dec. 1 in Washington, D.C., and included Rush University Medical Center for the second time. The announcement came at Leapfrog's 10th anniversary meeting.

"It's a testament to the high level of skill of our doctors, nurses and other care providers that the Leapfrog survey again has found that Rush provides excellent care in an efficient manner," said Rush CEO Larry Goodman, MD. "We received this honor for a second year in a row because day in and day out, Rush clinicians maintain consistently high standards of patient care and safety."

Rush University Medical Center Again Receives Perfect Score in Healthcare Equality Index

For the second consecutive year, Rush University Medical Center has received a perfect score in the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), an annual survey of U.S. hospitals regarding treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) patients and their families and hospital employees. Rush was among only 11 health care facilities and one hospital network in the country, and one of only two medical centers in the Midwest, that answered “yes” to each of the survey’s main criterion. The survey rated 178 hospitals and clinics nationwide.
