What's New at Rush

Rush Opens New Tower Hospital Facility
After more than seven years of planning and three years of construction, Rush University Medical Center successfully moved approximately 200 patients into the Tower, Rush’s new, 14-story, state-of-the-art hospital building, located at Ashland Avenue and the Eisenhower Expressway.

The patients settled into their new rooms in the Tower after moving from their rooms in Rush’s existing hospital, the Atrium Building, on Sunday, Jan. 8. On Monday morning at about 8:30 a.m. CT, the first surgeries began in the new hospital. Approximately 60 operations were planned for the surgical suites, with another 20 operations scheduled in Rush’s Atrium Building.

Rush University Appoints Gale B. Ward as Associate Provost of Student Affairs
Gayle B. Ward has been appointed associate provost of Student Affairs at Rush University. He began this senior management role Sept. 19, overseeing the daily operations and policies of the University's Office of the Associate Provost, Student Affairs, including admissions, financial aid, counseling, student affairs, registrar, international services and disability.

Ward comes to Rush from Richard J. Daley College, where he served as the dean of Student Services and was the recipient of the Richard J. Daley College Administrator of the Year Award. Previously, he was the associate director for Student Affairs and the associate director of Admissions/Enrollment Management at DePaul University. That followed a stint as recruitment coordinator for Student Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
